Request for Advisory Opinion

The MEPA Office has received a request from Eastern Development asking for an Advisory Opinion concerning the redevelopment of the former Ann & Hope store in Seekonk, MA.  Eastern Development intends to replace the 221,088 square foot Ann & Hope store with a 80,713 square foot Super Stop & Shop and a 135,857 square foot Home Depot store, and has asked for an Advisory Opinion whether the project would qualify as a “Replacement Project” under the MEPA regulations.  Copies of the request can be obtained from Douglas Landry at (617) 924-1770. The Secretary of Environmental Affairs will accept public comments on the request until May 28, 2002.
