Draft Record of Decision

A Draft Record of Decision proposing to grant a Phase I waiver was issued for EOEA #12749, Mansfield Municipal Airport, on May 10, 2002. The DROD is being published in this issue of the Environmental Monitor. Public comments will be accepted until June 8, 2002, after which the Secretary of Environmental Affairs will reconsider, modify, or confirm the waiver.

Densely Developed Area Designation

On May 10, 2002 the Secretary of Environmental Affairs designated the Telecom City Densely Developed Area (DDA-004) in the City of Medford, in accordance with MGL c.131 s. 40 as amended by St. 1996 c.258; MGL c.21A s.2; and 301 CMR 10.00. The DDA is located between the mean annual high-water line of Little Creek and the Malden River and a parallel line located 200 feet inland, between the conjunction of Corporation Way and the storm drain culvert carrying Little Creek, thence running generally easterly, southerly and again easterly for a distance of approximately one thousand feet to a point on the westerly bank of the Malden River; thence turning and running southerly along the westerly bank of the Malden River for a distance of about 1200 feet to the Medford/Everett municipal boundary.  The DDA also includes the part of the City of Medford located on the easterly bank of the Malden River, between the Malden River and the Everett municipal boundary, approximately 1000 feet north of the point where Route 16 crosses the Malden River.
